How to see your Spotify Wrapped playlists year round

Are you curious to know what your most-listened-to songs were last year? Spotify Wrapped is a great way to do just that. Providing a personalized list of your greatest hits of the last 12 months, Wrapped has fun features and interesting insights into your listening habits. As long as you listened to Spotify throughout the year, no matter if on your Android phone or smart speaker, Wrapped becomes available around early December. And don’t worry if you accidentally swiped away the first Wrapped notification. The playlist remains available in the Spotify Recently Played tab.

Wrapped offers many features, including a Listening Personality, that change each year. These are displayed in a format similar to Instagram Stories and are shareable to social media or messenger apps. Even if you aren’t a big Spotify listener, Wrapped covers overall listening stats by genre and artist. Want to take a peek to see how your musical tastes have changed? Here’s how to find your old Spotify Wrapped playlists.

So what is Spotify Wrapped?

Spotify Wrapped resembles Facebook’s Year in Review and was first implemented in 2016. Wrapped is accessible between December 1 and December 31 for that year. Between January and October, Spotify tracks your listening habits by genre, artist, album, and song. And if you share your account with friends, relatives, or kids, Wrapped includes their listening habits in your Wrapped review.

Wrapped shows how many minutes you spent listening to a song in a catchy format that can be shared meme-style. Enjoy a good year-end call-out, but the stats don’t end there. You can also check how many artists you listened to and which artist you listened to most, complete with percentile rankings.

Wrapped has standard, recurrent features and one special feature each year. For 2022, the special feature assigns a Listening Personality based on the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) personality test. Your Listening Personality can be based on up to four metrics: Familiarity (F) vs. Exploration (E), Loyalty (L) vs. Variety (V), Timelessness (T) vs. Newness (N), and Commonality vs. Uniqueness (U). Some possible results include titles such as the Replayer, the Deep Diver, the Early Adopter, and the Adventurer.

How do I find my Wrapped playlists?

Despite Wrapped being a separate year-end event on Spotify, it can be difficult to locate if you don’t know where to look. You can either access it on your Android phone browser or via the app, so there are a few methods to find your Wrapped story and associated music mixes.

From Spotify Wrapped announcement banner on your app’s homepage

  1. Open the Spotify app on your phone or tablet.
  2. A banner announces that your Spotify Wrapped is available.
  3. Tap the banner.
  4. It takes you to your Wrapped story.

You may not see the banner on your homescreen yet. Wrapped shows up most of the time, but it’s not always the case. This is a version issue for some, and updating Spotify makes it magically appear. However, in the fashion of technology, the Wrapped banner may not show at all. In this case, search for Wrapped in the app or with a mobile browser.

How to find your Spotify Wrapped list if you do not see the banner in your app

  1. Open the Spotify app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Look for Your 2022 in review heading. You may need to scroll down.
  3. Beneath the heading shown in the image below, you’ll find your Wrapped 2022 story and Personalized playlists.

  1. Make sure the Spotify app is installed on your phone or tablet and you are signed in.
  2. Open your browser.
  3. Type spotify.com/us/wrapped. This takes you to the Spotify Wrapped page.
  4. Look for Listen to 2022 highlights here and tap on the link as shown in the image below.

  7. Beneath this are your Wrapped story and personalized albums.

What features does the Wrapped story have?

At long last, you’ve found Wrapped! Now you can peruse the features and statistics at your leisure, alongside a comparison to how many people in the world are listening to the same things as you. Here’s an overview of the Wrapped screens and stats:

  • How many genres you listened to
  • Your top genres
  • A thematic breakdown of your listening day
  • Your total listening time in minutes
  • The song you listened to the most
  • How many different songs you’ve played
  • Your top five repeated songs
  • A link to your Wrapped playlist and an offer to save it to your library

These are standard features of Spotify Wrapped with special features specific to each year. For example, 2022’s Listening Personality feature. The next slide is Your year on one page and shows the previous story slides in a condensed format. We don’t know yet what 2023’s special feature will be, but we’ll update this article as soon as that information becomes available.

How to share Wrapped stats

Wrapped stats are fun to check out but more fun when friends and followers can see them. Music, podcasts, and favorite artists are great ways to open up conversations and meet new people. Wrapped slides are designed for easy social media sharing, but they can also be saved and shared through messaging apps or for safekeeping.

Social media sharing

Sharing from Wrapped to social media is easy. Return to Wrapped and tap or swipe to the slide you want to share.

  1. At the bottom of each slide is an icon to Share this story. Click that.
  2. Select what platform you want to share to. Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Snapchat are common options.
  3. Optional: Add additional messages or thoughts on your Wrapped results.

Save and share with friends

If you don’t have or are uncomfortable with using social media, no worries. Spotify Wrapped lets you save and share slides from your gallery to messaging apps like Discord and WhatsApp.

  1. Return to the Spotify homepage and click Wrapped.
  2. Go to the slide you want to share.
  3. Take a screenshot of the screen or click the Share button.
  4. It saves to your phone gallery.

You must crop the screenshot in Photo Edit on your phone or tablet to remove the Spotify background.

How to access your Spotify Wrapped from previous years

Accessing previous Wrapped stories on the Spotify app is not currently possible. So save screenshots or share slides from your stories before they disappear on January 1.

You can, however, access Wrapped playlists from previous years. There are several ways to do this. Save it to your library when prompted in the Wrapped story, as mentioned in the Features of Wrapped story section above. If you missed this or cannot find it, you can still save the album.

Save a Wrapped playlist to the Spotify library

It’s simple to save a Wrapped playlist to your library and preserve them from going offline. To do so:

  1. Open Wrapped in Spotify.
  2. Click your Wrapped album.

This is only available for the current year, but Wrapped playlists still exist. You need to access the Spotify archive to find them.

Wrapped in Spotify archives

This method takes a bit of work, but it’s worth it to access your long-lost Wrapped playlists! After opening the playlist from Spotify’s archive, it can be saved to your library by clicking the heart icon.

  1. Open a browser on your phone or tablet with the Spotify app installed and signed in.
  2. In the search bar, type https://open.spotify.com/genre/2021-page.
  3. Replace 2021 with 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, or 2016 to access that year’s Wrapped.

Can I disable Spotify Wrapped?

Wrapped is a fun way for users to share their music style, but it is not free of criticism. Some people may not enjoy that their listening is being recorded. Although some Spotify users have asked Spotify to add an option to disable Wrapped, this feature is not available. Hopefully, the future will bring more options to Wrapped.

Check your listening habits all year

Between listening to old Wrapped playlists and vibing to new music, you may want to check out how Spotify tracks your info throughout the year. This can be done using daily recommendations and weekly playlists the app suggests or more directly. If you belong to this second group of Spotify listeners:

  1. Open the Spotify app.
  2. In the upper-right corner, tap the clock icon.
  3. This opens a page with your most recent listens.

You can follow your listening habits on this page, but it doesn’t give all the stats provided in the yearly Wrapped story.

That’s a wrap

A year of music is a big chunk of time, and looking back on everything you’ve listened to can be fun and enlightening. Wrapped tracks everything, so what better way to reflect than some personalized and shareable meme-ified stats. You can share them through chats, text, and social media or save them for your own memories. No matter what you want to do, Wrapped is a fun feature. Aren’t you satisfied with Spotify’s Wrapped stats? There are other platforms to listen to and keep tabs on your music listening habits.
